CSIS Advice on the Emergencies Act follow up post. So we now know that while CSIS found that the convoy did not rise to a “Threat to the Security of Canada” as defined by the CSIS Act, the Director did advise government that the Act was required based on advice he received from the department of justice.

I think this begs a few questions that I attempt to tackle in this video

  • When invoking the EA, should our definition of threats get more broad or narrower?
  • What do people inside CSIS think of this conflicting advice?
